This Week at Twin Cities Church!

Hey everybody! I am so looking forward to Sunday’s SPLASH! Our end of the summer picnic is such a great time to connect with our church family, and I want to make sure you all come and jump in with gusto. We’ll have games, The Denny Russell Band, great food to purchase (at church on Sunday), a large grill for your own cooking, a Dunk The Pastor tank, and baptisms.

Of all the things we do, baptisms represent the reason we exist. We exist to connect people in a thriving relationship with Jesus Christ. Baptism is the outward expression of a changed heart. Jesus asked us to identify with Him in this way, and we encourage you to as well. LWW baptisms offer a great “in nature” way to express your faith before your church family.

Here’s the deal: If you’ve made a commitment to Jesus or want to know how, please hit reply to this email and register. Then show up at church for the 9:30 Baptism Class taught by Pastor John. Meet at the Coffee Bar. If you’ve attended Journey 101, we’ll waive the class! Just hit reply to this email and sign up. You’ll be glad you took this next step in your journey with Jesus.

This weekend our “Jesus Stories” series continues as we look at the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. If you want, you can read ahead in Luke 18:9-14. This story will free you from the trap of believing your relationship with God is based upon what you do for Him. In fact, the most freeing piece of information you can know is that you can be free because of what Jesus has already done for you.

Listening to Jesus with you,

Pastor Ron

This Week at Twin Cities Church - Food Drive!

Hey everybody! Last Saturday our church was able to serve our larger community of faith by hosting a memorial service for Lori Leaman, who died of cancer a few weeks ago. It was a very moving day full of tears of sadness and feelings of joy. I began the service by welcoming everyone to our facility and home. What a sense of pride I had for this place God so graciously allowed us to build.

More than the clean facility, though, I was proud of the countless volunteers who give of themselves to make sure our facility is the best it can be. Our motto is “Keeping It Like New.” I want to thank everyone who serves on the Facility Care Teams: Hub Club, 2nd Saturday Clean and those who give of themselves to serve on Monday and Thursday to clean, repair and restore. You are my people, and I am grateful for you. If you want to make a difference, just call Fred or Lisa about joining the Facility Care Team.

This weekend our “Jesus Stories” series draws us to the reason we continue to serve and give for Him. If you want, you can read ahead in Matthew 24:45-51. We’re calling this story “The Parable Of The Diligent Heart.” People sometimes portray Jesus as a soft, laid back, do nothing kind of guy. I agree that He didn’t live with the same sense of anxiety and worry we do, but there was definitely a sense of urgency about Him. That’s what this parable deals with.

If you’re a couple in the 25-35 age range, make sure to attend Fusion on Saturday evening.

If you want more information, just call the office and talk with Brett or Nancy.

Listening to Jesus with you,

Pastor Ron

This Week at Twin Cities Church!

Hey everybody! I am sitting here in a beautiful church in the middle of “nowhere” Oklahoma watching a wedding rehearsal for my nephew’s marriage tomorrow. The pastor said something that struck me in a really cool way. We need cool since it is 114 degrees outside. He said, “Everyone remember this: The most important person from this moment forward is the BRIDE!” We all laughed, but it’s so true. The bride is the focus.

At that moment, I looked around at all the people here and realized that, as true as that is for a marriage ceremony, in a deeper spiritual sense, it’s different. According to the Bible there will be a day when we will be at the wedding feast of the Lamb. At that moment, the most important One is the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ. All eyes will be on Him because everything will be all about Him.

One reason I love the “Jesus Stories Series” is that we, the Bride of Christ, get to place our focus directly on the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.

This weekend we’re going to focus on a story that is one of the most moving of all His parables. As the rest of the parables we’ve looked at, this one will be a story of contrast. What makes this parable so special is how we get to see a side of Jesus I just love. He truly was a man of compassion toward the broken and outcast. If you want, you can read the story found in Luke 7:36-50 as we focus on “The Parable of Two Debtors” and learn how to grow hearts of gratitude.

Focusing all my attention on pleasing the Bridegroom with you,

Pastor Ron

This Week at Twin Cities Church!

Hey everybody! I’ve been hanging out in Oklahoma this past week to spend time with my mom. It’s been three months now since my dad went to heaven, and it’s so strange to be here and not hear his voice or see him come out the back door with oxygen bottle in hand leaning on his cane for support. It has been good to be here and think about the man who brought me into this world. I am grateful for this time.

This weekend we’re going to talk about a man who made foolish choices concerning money and possessions. I was reflecting on my dad, and even though he ended his life with very little in the way of worldly wealth or status, he was a man who made wise choices concerning what he had. He invested his life in things that really mattered to him and really made a difference in the lives of his kids.

As I’ve gotten older, I realize just how much like my dad I am. I was imprinted by him. There’s no other way to say it. He could only give me who he was.

In the same way that our earthly parents help shape our lives, our heavenly Father also imprints us. As we hang with Him, we are imprinted by who He is. It’s only natural. One of the best ways to experience God’s person is to hang with Him and one of the best places to hang with Him is in church.

I hope you’ll be at Twin Cities this Sunday. We’ll be looking at the “The Parable of the Rich Fool.” You can read the story in Luke 12:13-21. Hope you’ll make the wise choice about what you do with your Sunday.

Having my heart captured with you,

Pastor Ron
