This Week at Twin Cities - April 28, 2011

Hey everybody,

“This church is awesome!” // “That was the best Easter ever!” // “The baptisms made me cry as I was reminded of the power of Jesus to change lives!” // “Thank you for making Easter so meaningful for me! I brought my family too!” // “I am so proud of our church – creative, celebration, Christ-centered!”

Those are just a few of the comments from our Easter celebration weekend. I am so grateful for your passionate heart for God and His Son. I am so grateful for all the people who served above the call of duty – out of hearts of gratitude – so that we were able to present His Son so creatively and clearly. I was so excited about how many of you invited friends and family. Thanks for trusting us to present Jesus clearly and sincerely. You blessed this pastor’s heart.

On a somber note for me, my dad went to heaven this week. I had told you a week ago about a heart attack he had because his oxygen machine failed to reset after a power outage. He had been taken to a skilled nursing care facility where he was receiving rehab to regain his strength. On Easter evening, he had a second heart attack. He did not recover from this one. I am so grateful for the truth I was able to share on Easter weekend. It gave me great strength and hope as I received the phone call on Sunday night.

It reminds me of a statement we used to make a lot more around here. We’re all just a breath away from eternity so let’s do our part to help people discover the way to a Christ-filled eternity.

This Sunday we dig into our new series, “Time To Grow.” I am so thrilled and ready to grow and become more of the man God designed me to be.

Letting God do His work in me,

Pastor Ron

This Week at Twin Cities - April 21, 2011 - Easter!

Hey everybody, I love Easter. I love its story, and I love its meaning. Easter is a day of awesome celebration filled with a real hope. That resurrection morning must have been pretty awesomely scary and electric. Imagine seeing Jesus – whom you had just watched die a horrendous death three days earlier – standing right in front of you. Not as a ghost, but as a real person who had been dead, and is now undead. It must have been both amazing and unbelievable at the same time.

I hope and pray that Easter still has that kind of deep emotional feeling for you. It does for me. I have been studying the Easter story from John 20 and 21 in preparation for our services this weekend, and I am so eager to share what I’ve seen in the lives of those who saw Jesus ALIVE!

I watched a great video this week that pumped me up for Easter. You can follow this link and watch it yourself. http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=FB1B9CNU

Easter is one of the easiest days to invite people to church. Will you join me in inviting someone to Easter with you? Will you take the initiative and make a call or walk next door just to make a simple ask. “Hey, this Sunday is Easter. Would you want to go experience it at my church? You can also send them an invitation using Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/twincitieschurch

Easter will also kick off our Spring series, “Time to Grow.” I am super pumped for this series. It’s one I need. In fact, this is one I’m desperate for. I know I need to make some new steps in becoming like Jesus, and I need help and motivation.

Celebrating the hope of the resurrection with you,

Pastor Ron

This Week at Twin Cities - April 14, 2011

Food Drive This Week!  Click here for details...

Hey Everybody, Sunday is the key message in our “Relationslips” series. I am going to talk about how to know you’ve been forgiven by God. This is key to us being able to forgive others and to do the work required to experience peace in relationships. I can’t be more emphatic than that.

As part of our service on Sunday and in preparation for Easter, we’re going to observe Communion. I hope you’ll be there to experience the power of what Jesus did for us on the cross. Knowing forgiveness fully will elevate our experience with God and others.

Each Spring we get to connect together and reach our friends through our Community Golf Tournament. You can sign up online or at the Men’s Ministry table on Sunday. This event helps you meet people from Twin Cities and is a great way to impact our community through the proceeds.

Imagine this: It takes 8,000 Easter eggs to make our Annual Eggstravaganza work. We still need candy for eggs, so please bring a bag or two of wrapped candy to church Sunday so all the kiddos can have a sweet time. Our annual Easter Egg hunt is April 23.

Lastly, Sunday is our day to bring food for Interfaith Food Ministry. Typically, we haul around three SUV loads of food to Interfaith on our food drive Sunday. We received a call this week telling us that the need for cereal and other non-perishable items is huge right now. In fact, the shelves were reported to be empty. Let’s see how much food we can give to those who need it most right now.

Praying the Jabez Challenge with you,

Pastor Ron

This Week at Twin Cities - April 7, 2011

Hey Everybody, I am so grateful to be part of a church family like ours. I am thrilled at your willingness to keep your focus outward on those who don’t yet know Jesus. I don’t mean to be critical or judgmental in this statement, but I believe we’re one of the few churches in our community that actually DOES whatever it takes to reach those far from Jesus.

I am also so excited about your personal desire to grow in being like Jesus in all ways. Your response to this series really speaks volumes about the importance you place on the power of unity. Jesus said that people will know that we are His disciples by our love, not by our knowledge or achievements. I appreciate how you keep pushing me to help us fulfill our priorities to Love God and Love People.

The next two Sundays are so critical to us experiencing peace in our lives. I’m going to talk about giving forgiveness on Sunday and then receiving forgiveness on April 17. These two, both giving as well as receiving forgiveness, are key to our being like Jesus. They are also key to healthy relationships. You won’t want to miss either Sunday.

Each spring we get to connect together and reach our friends through our Community Golf Tournament. You can sign up online or at the Men’s Ministry table on Sunday. This event helps you meet people from Twin Cities and is a great way to impact our community through the proceeds.
