Hey Everyone,
At the end of 3rd service last week, as I was reflecting about our focus on the issue of pain and suffering, I made this comment: “Some of you need to move past your story.” I didn’t know how much that would mean until someone stopped me in the lobby and said, “When you said that, I knew exactly why I had come today. I need to move past my story.”
If you think about it, our stories are part of who we are and who we become, but they are only one aspect of our total being. Even though we are our story, we’re so much more. God will use all things for the good of those who love Him, and He has something in store for us that will make our story pale in comparison to the result of God’s work. If you weren’t here on Sunday, you’ll want to watch the service. In my opinion, it was one of the best messages I have ever heard on this subject. Don’t take my word for it, our CD sales were the highest they’ve been in over a year. Many people bought a copy to give to a friend who needed to hear this Biblical perspective in their pain and suffering.
On Sunday we’re going to get ready for Easter by making what Jesus did for us on the cross our focus. Why did Jesus have to die? If we’re intellectually honest, I believe we’ve all asked that question. If God has all power and knowledge, couldn’t He have come up with a better way than by the death of His Son? We’ll talk about that Sunday and hopefully answer that question.
We still need candy for our Annual Easter Egg Extravaganza. You can drop your bags of individually wrapped candy at the office or bring them with you Sunday. We will stuff over 8000 eggs for hundreds of kids to hunt. What a great way to build a bridge to our community!
Learning to walk in God's reality,
Pastor Ron
