This weekend we get the opportunity to participate in Operation Christmas Child (OCC). My wife and daughter were able to get our boxes ready, and we look forward to bringing them this Sunday when we come to church. These boxes go to children all around the world to help them realize that they are special and loved. The really cool thing is that local pastors help with distribution so that the kids have a person whom they can turn to for spiritual connection. If you want, stop by the office today or Friday before 1:00 pm and get a box and instructions.
When we were praying about 40 Days In The Word, we knew God wanted us to engage in serving our friends and neighbors which is why we have the Extend Compassion component. Sunday, November 18, is our food drive. We’re hoping to stock the shelves of Interfaith Food Ministry with the food you bring that Sunday morning. Typically, we have about four trunk loads of food from our food drive. Let’s shoot for four pick up loads that day!! I’m hoping that every family who attends that weekend will bring a grocery bag full of non-perishable food.
God has allowed us to be even more engaged with Hospitality House this Fall. If you would like to help serve the homeless in our community please contact angel@twincitieschurch.com and let her know your desire to help. We hope to host HH one Saturday night a month beginning soon.
What a great time to be able to say, “God has placed us here for such a time as this!” I love getting to be God’s hands and feet.
Extending compassion with you,
Pastor Ron
