Hey everybody, Friend Day was pretty exciting on Sunday. I am so grateful to you as a church. The “Radical” series ended with a strong re-emphasis on our vision to passionately lead people into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus. That means we exist to creatively and consistently connect people who aren’t yet connected to God and His church. You took that challenge, and we had a huge surge in people who were here to check us out on Sunday – even though it was a rainy day.
If you missed Sunday, you’ll want to watch it online because what I shared was key to the whole series. Sure, each week stands alone, but Sunday set it all up. At the end of the services, I asked people to make a commitment with me to be here in a service each week of the series. I’m praying that we keep that commitment because the stakes are pretty high in a series like this.
Jesus said, “They will know you are My disciples by your love.” It could be said, “They will know you are NOT My disciples by your unresolved conflict and disunity.” It’s important that we live in such a way that people are drawn to Jesus because of us. Sadly, the opposite is most often the case. So, I want to say again, “This series is critical to our fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) in our lives.”
Victory Night is March 20 at 6pm. We’ll have our normal morning services and then gather together that night to celebrate God’s work in and through us during 2010. I think you’ll be amazed when you hear from different ministries how God has impacted us and our community. We’ll have great singing, stories and a potluck dessert bar. I can’t wait.
This week we’ll talk about the upside of conflict, how conflict happens and how to begin the process of making peace.
Praying the Prayer of Jabez with you,
Pastor Ron
