This Week at Twin Cities - August 5, 2010

Hey everybody,

Whew! Summer is almost over and the Fall is about to kick into full swing. With that in mind, let me make you aware of some opportunities coming our way this Fall.

First, we’re the regional host church for Perspectives: Developing A Christian Worldview. This great set of classes is designed to help stretch our minds to understand the movement of the message of Jesus Christ around the world. Contact Angel at extension 450.

Second, we’re experimenting with a concept we’re calling LifeSkills. This is a set of classes we hope to offer twice a year to help us grow in the knowledge we need to live the best life possible. The classes all provide biblically based wisdom for issues common to most of us. Pick up a brochure at church or look at one online.

Third, on September 13 we’re going to begin a fun program for mothers of pre-school kids called MOPS. We’re so excited about this approach to care for young families in our community.

Fourth, we’re sending a team to Uganda on August 22. Seventeen people from our church have completed their training and are ready to be used by God to help our Ugandan partners share the message of Jesus there.

Fifth, we’re about to launch a new series of messages beginning September 5. We still have some great material to cover in James, and I’m so excited about our new series called “Wide Open.” We’ll experience and learn how to leave nothing on the table when it comes to our worship together.

This coming Sunday we continue our series through James as we learn to be “Authentic.” Make sure to read James 3:13 - 4:12 so you come ready to hear what God has to say about humility and living a selfless life.

Looking forward to the Fall with you,

Pastor Ron
