This Week at Twin Cities - August 12, 2010

Hey everybody,

The Ordination service several of us witnessed last Sunday turned out to be a very unique and highly spiritually-charged experience. It was an honor to be present and participate as three men from our church drew a line in the sand stating that they sensed God’s calling to the ministry.

The service is called a ministry ordination which means they were setting themselves aside and giving themselves completely to God to serve Him and His church with all the gifting and resources God would provide.

Bobby Breaux has been a full-time pastor now for 25 years and yet for different circumstances had never been ordained. As he shared his personal story, he talked about his unique call to serve children and lead the volunteers who love them, too.

Brett Malech has been on our staff since January leading the teams for Administration and Grow and Serve. He has also served on our Leadership Team for the past 8 years. He shared about a time when God allowed him the privilege of praying with a dear friend who chose to accept Jesus Christ as her forgiver and the leader of her life. God used that experience with many others to call Brett to serve His church.

Patrick Nicholls has worked for our church for 14 years – he began while still in high school. He talked about a time when he was dating his wife, April, and he told her that she needed to know that he sensed God was calling him to work in a church for the rest of his life. He wanted her to know what that would mean for their family. It was a very bold conversation. Patrick serves us now as our IT Director.

I ask you to pray for each of these men as they continue to serve God’s church with His power and strength.

Pastor Ron
