This Week at Twin Cities - July 23, 2010

Hey everybody,

I want to highlight our Community Impact Team today. The CIT was formed as part of our 2010 Plan: 24 Months of Love for the purpose of getting us more engaged in sharing the love of Jesus locally. It’s been pretty cool to see how God has moved people who have hearts for the hurting locally to energize this ministry focus.

Pastor John works with the various team leaders as they expand our impact in Western Nevada County. Our CIT currently serves the following: Elderly Outreach, Jail and Juvenile Hall, At-Risk Students, Serve Our Schools, Interfaith Food Ministry, Anew Day, Nevada County Food Bank, LivingWell Medical Clinic, Women of Worth, Habitat for Humanity, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Last Sunday, Mike Blake, Principal of the Park Avenue Alternative Education Site, came to our services to thank us for the service projects we have done in his school. Here’s a portion of the letter he presented to us:

“Thank you so much for the love you’ve given to Park Avenue School. The plaza you built is gorgeous and added a striking element of beauty to our graduation last week. The plaza reflects your generosity in both the donations of your time and money. Thank you for your commitment and vision. The plaza is an oasis at our school and serves as the central point for our outdoor activities. Thank you for your gift of labor and love. I look forward to working with you in the future. Please keep us in your prayers.”

Wow! It’s exciting to be able to help people and know that what we did mattered. I want to encourage you to contact Pastor John if you have a heart for serving in our community.

Make sure to read James 2:14-26 to be prepared for Sunday.

Pastor Ron
