This Week at Twin Cities - May 6, 2010

Hey everybody, I want to invite you to come pray with me and many other Followers of Jesus from our community TODAY, May 6. We’re gathering at 7:00PM over at First Baptist Church on Ridge Road for our local expression of the 2010 National Day of Prayer. People all over our nation will come together in unity to pray for our nation. I hope you will join me and pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

If you can’t make it, remember there is a group of people from our church who pray every 2nd and 4th Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00PM here at our church. Come join them!

This Sunday is Mother’s Day. I am privileged to have a Godly mother whom I get to celebrate this weekend. I often tell people that my mom literally carried me – not just in the womb – for the years I was living in rebellion and making terrible choices. Do you know how she did it? She was a woman of prayer. As far back as I can remember, my mom prayed for me. I know because I watched her. Later as I was out on my own, she knew that only by God’s hand would I make it through that time. So, she prayed me through it.

I am now privileged to have a wife, Kimberly, with the same passion for prayer. She has taught me and our kids that our first response to difficulty is to begin talking to God. I love how my kids have caught her passion for prayer. I hope you’ll come on Sunday as Kimberly gets to speak on lessons she learned through studying the life of Hannah, another prayer warrior mom found in the Old Testament.
