This Week at Twin Cities - December 10, 2009

Hey Gang,

Hey everybody, what a week, huh? All the snow, the cold temps, and David’s last day as one of our pastors. I don’t want another week like this for a long while. The good news is that it’s Christmas season, and we have a lot to celebrate. Our Christmas season starts Sunday as we kick off a new series called “The Carols of Christmas.” Last year we looked at the Colors of Christmas, and next year we’ll look at the People of Christmas, but this year it’s about the songs, the carols we’ve all come to know and love.

I am so excited about what we’re going to learn as we look at the story of the birth of Jesus as told through the songs written over the centuries to celebrate this baby boy who was the Son of God. This first week we’ll take a look at the carol “I Wonder As I Wander” and ponder the whole idea of looking at Christmas with the faith of a child. You won’t want to miss this!

This Sunday is the second week of our 2009 Year-End Gift. There are several ways for you to discover why this gift is so important to us – as a church and individually. You can read the Newsletter that came to your home this week, or the letter we mailed last week, or go online and read the PDF file which explains why we do this each year.

Our giving is more vital right now than ever as we end a financially tough 2009. Our Year-End Gift is all about vision and priority for our future days. It’s my desire that we will all consider how we can limit consumption during the holidays so we can give more to invest in God’s eternal work through our church.

Celebrating the meaning of Christmas with you,

Pastor Ron
