Picnic and Pride

Hey Friends and Family of TCC,

Our annual summer picnic has a new location this year. We’ll be meeting at Pioneer Park in Nevada City for a great family time. Brett Malech and Andi Lambert have pulled a creative group of people together to bring this event to life. It’s the place you will want to be on August 17. We’ve rented the public swimming pool which will offer a great way to escape the heat. We’ll also have a band, barbecue, Ultimate Frisbee, face painting, kid’s games and end the evening with my highlight – BAPTISMS.

You’ll want to bring your own food – either a picnic type meal or meat to barbecue – your own drinks. We’ll provide hot coals that will be grill-ready at 5:00. We’ll also provide frozen ice cream cups for all who want to indulge, and it’s free. Our picnic is a super time to make new friends, connect with old friends and celebrate God’s grace as we watch some folks go public for Jesus through baptism. Come have a fun time with your church family!

Last week I told second service that I would send a link to the message by Tim Keller on “The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness” which he gave at his church in Manhattan, New York. I want to encourage you to set aside time to listen. If you do, I believe it will help you gain even more clarity on the issue of pride we covered on Sunday. Here’s the link:

This Sunday we’re going to walk through Daniel 5 as we continue our Babylon series. I am thrilled at how God is using this series to help us know how to live in our current cultural reality. If you miss a week, please watch or listen online so you can keep up with your church family.

Enjoying what God is doing this summer,
