Hey Friends and Family of TCC,
If you missed last Sunday, please go online and watch the entire service. I believe I was able to clearly identify, as much as I understand, the process God wants us to walk as we enter into discipleship or become apprentices of Jesus. He wants us to grow, and that growth is progressive and organic. God does His work from the inside out.
I gave you my definition of the Good Life, and here it is again. The Good Life is intimacy with God and others, a life of character and integrity, the ability to feel compassion for the hurting and helpless, and a life of purpose greater than self-absorption.
Over the coming weeks, we’re going to see what a fruitful life looks like when we’re connected to Jesus and as we embrace the power made possible through the resurrection. I am so challenged by Peter’s declaration that I have “everything I need for living a Godly life.” Wow! I want to know that life and the power of His resurrection in my life, and from your comments this week, I believe you do as well.
One thing to keep in mind as we come back Sunday and begin walking through Peter’s course or curriculum for Christlikeness is this: These characteristics are not things we do – if it’s meant to be it’s up to me – instead they are a promise or vision of what we can become when we walk with Jesus.
Sunday is Mother’s Day. Make sure to do something so to make you mom feel special. Please pray for all the single moms who need our encouragement and support. Also pray for all who feel a loss at Mother’s Day either because their mom is no longer living or because she was not the best of moms.
We’re also going to receive a special offering for Camp Scholarships this Sunday. We’ll do it at the end of our services just like our benevolence offering. Please consider giving to help send as many kids to camp as possible for a potential life-changing experience with God.
I am so eager to be with you this Sunday,
