This Week at Twin Cities - August 26, 2010

Hey everybody,

This Sunday we finish our study of the New Testament book of James. We’ve called it “Authentic: Real Faith That Fits Real Life.” I pray that it has been as good for you as it was for me and our other speakers who got to dig deep in this wonderful New Testament book.

This Summer we’ve learned that in order for our faith to be real we must get God’s Word into our hearts, and we must obey what we know. I ask you to keep the things you’ve learned from God close to your heart. Allow them to stay embedded deeply in your spirit by taking action on what you have learned.

As we move forward into Fall, we’re offering several opportunities to get God’s Word into our hearts. First is Foundations. This much-anticipated class begins on September 8 and will help folks understand the uniqueness of the Christian faith. Second, Men of the Bible (MOB) begins a 10-week study of Joshua on September 9. This is a year-round Bible study that meets at 6am every Thursday morning. Our Women’s Bible Study begins September 9 as well. They will be in a DVD series with some very gifted speakers – like Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer – either in the morning or evening. Fourth is MOPS. This great opportunity for moms of pre-schoolers kicks off on September 13. I am so excited to offer this for our young families. Most importantly our Twin Cities Groups kick off Fall Community Groups on September 19.

You can check out any of these while at church this Sunday. Make sure to read James 5:13-20 so you’re prepared to hear from God’s Word and ready to apply what you learn.

Looking forward to an exciting Fall,

Pastor Ron
