Hey Friends and Family of TCC,
I watched with a strong sense of pride on Sunday as cart after cart of food was loaded to be delivered to Interfaith Food Ministry. I saw people lugging several bags per family as they made their way to church, and I was moved by your consistent generosity. Our volunteers eagerly received your gifts – we even had to call in reinforcements. Thank you again for caring.
Please remember that we have a food drive the third Sunday of every month. Our key contact with Interfaith told me that the previous week they were out of cereal and families had to leave with no healthy options for breakfast. This Monday was totally different as families left carrying boxes of healthy food options.
One key way we seek to fulfill our mission statement – to lead as many people as possible into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ – is to create opportunities for us to extend compassion locally and globally. When we get to participate in spiritual exercises like feeding the hungry, it helps us gain a new perspective on how blessed we are, and how giving generously to help others blesses us in return.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how our series on Work: More Than Making A Living has drawn the interest of our young adults. As I speak on Sunday, I’ve noticed an increasing number of adults in their early 20’s through 30’s eagerly listening. It just shows me that this is so important, and I’m glad we got to address this need.
This Sunday we will focus on how we can succeed at work. We’ll define success from a biblical perspective and what we can do to be the best workers we can be. I hope you’ll be there to hear this encouraging message.
Looking at work in a new way,
